About Mr. Keys

Graham Keys completed his orthopaedic training in Cape Town in 1988. He subsequently worked as a shoulder, hip and knee Fellow at Nottingham and thereafter as a Knee Fellow at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. He then returned to Cape Town as a Consultant at Groote Schuur Hospital. He was also a Consultant to the Springbok Cricket Team and to a large charitable organisation.

He started his Consultant post in Macclesfield in 1992 after emigrating from South Africa with his family. He has been involved in the development of a Unicompartmental Knee Prosthesis www.oxfordknee.net  and in Minimally Invasive Knee Surgery for Replacements. He has run, lectured and demonstrated surgery both live and in the laboratory at local, national and international Orthopaedic meetings. He has been invited as Faculty Lecturer to many prestigious Orthopaedic Association annual meetings in Europe, USA and elsewhere. He teaches and entertains both UK and foreign Orthopaedic Consultants in his theatres on a regular basis to demonstrate surgical techniques pertaining to knee surgery. He marks and examines post-graduate Doctorial and other theses in Orthopaedics from the University of Oxford where he did his fellowship and maintains Professorial links pertaining to research at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.

He undertakes all forms of knee surgery and hip replacements.
